i could honestly rant for days about the fandom and how it treats finn collins it’s so absurd and puts me in a rage BUT IT’S COOL god bless u and actually i think that’s why i followed u in the first place
finn collins is the pure embodiment of perfection and i could go on for days about why i love him, but alas, i have not tormented myself THAT intensely (yet, give it time). he’s my precious peacemaker. my precious flower.

YES! like, i started watching the 100 when it was into episode (five i think) of season two? and i had been hesitant to watch it because of the passionate following, and then i did. i was also hesitant because i had seen so much flack on this finn collins dude. and then i watched it and it was all downhill from there. me constantly going “oh no i love you” and “OH NO I LOVE YOU MORE” and “OH GOD NO NO NO I LOVE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU” and i still haven’t watched beyond episode eight of season two, oops.
Honestly, this is a super good question (thank you for specifying you aren’t being an ass, I appreciate the curiosity as opposed to hostility!). Because originally I didn’t entirely ship it because I thought Finn was kind of a pain in the butt. Loved his character right from the start, but not when it came to Clarke. Shipping those two, wanting them together? That sort of happened after Finn thought everyone up on the Ark (read: Raven) was dead and him & Clarke used each other as a distraction and an escape from their possible devastation. After that moment, the way they laid together after? I don’t know, it was how they looked at each other. Those gentle touches. The way their words strung together without being so snarky or sassy. It was like sleeping together opened up the door to more than just teasing, you know? I really liked that. I liked how they just fit together.
Setting aside the fact that he never informed Clarke that he was with Raven, or was honest with Raven in the beginning when she showed up. I just love their dynamic so much. I will admit though, it did become unhealthy. But there’s no denying that what he felt for Clarke, for himself, was genuine & true. I’m not entirely sure of Clarke’s romantic side toward Finn, but he did mean a great deal to her (don’t get me started on the BS of her killing him).
There’s just so much more there to them. The way they shaped each other, changed each other, and not entirely for the better. Finn was seventeen, he wasn’t used to having such intense feelings toward someone and he wasn’t in the right mental state of mind to handle her disappearance. And it’s not like Clarke was exactly in a good place when she decided it was best she kill Finn instead of letting him be subjected to torture (god bless Lexa for letting that have happened, to be honest).
I feel like I’m not actually answering your question here? There’s just the little things about them that I loved, and continue to love. Despite the fact that they became unhealthy, I will always love them. Finn & Clarke are my dream team, my dynamic duo. I’m not always great with words on these things, so here’s a quote to sum up my feelings instead.
