Anonymous:  How do you feel about ICP

As in…. Insane Clown Posse, yeah?

There are some hits I enjoy. I’m sort of neutral about them

secretlytwoface:

honestly if gotham want to go down the young vigilante route with bruce they should just have him become robin and then there would be a genuine need for the character when bruce becomes batman just saying

lmao ummm i don’t like this jack is everything (and chloe)

see, i understand the desire to reboot the series. and i’m respecting the fact kiefer doesn’t want to return as jack bauer right now, i get that. he’s been jack bauer for SO MANY years, so it makes sense that he would want to step back, you know? but as for resetting the entire series so they can bring in a whole new cast? i mean, i’m not gonna say too much & judge too much right now because there isn’t even a script for Fox to look at just yet.

i just have such mixed feelings over this. i had SUPER mixed feelings when the mini series happened and ended (i understand & respect audrey’s death, but idk, i am still conflicted to be honest).

if they are going to reboot & reset, then i hope they at least HONOUR the precious characters, you feel? because a lot of shows will just ignore & erase the history of previous characters. i want them to leave opportunity for guest appearances from previous characters, you feel? lol.

proposal: switch from “fuckboy” to “bratboy”

riningear:

why not “fuckboy”:

  • “fuckboy” is prison slang for a bottom, the one who gets fucked, usually meaning the one who gets raped (even prison rape is bad rape)
  • has a swear word and thus is harder to incorporate into day-to-day language without being questioned
  • some dimplebrain is gonna think it means that you wanna fuck em or that it’s a compliment because they have sex

why “bratboy” instead:

  • uses two “b”s so it sounds more obnoxious to be called as a word in general
  • it has sounds totally sassy af
  • it has no curse words so you can slip it into your everyday language
  • people know what a “brat” is in casual english language so there’s no questioning what “bratboy” means
  • has no problematic history
  • in fact it already has an urban dictionary entry that’s over 12 years old

  • plus you get google image searches like this which is 100% representative of what we’re going for here:

so in short:

#bratboy2k15

sciottmccall-archive-deactivate:  that's the best way i've ever heard zsasz described tbh, and i like harvey dent, i just feel like most people don't like him because he's never really been represented the right way in the dc cinematic universe but i like him in the show!!

Nolanverse fucked over Harvey/Two Face and I’ll never forgive him or that trash for it (not a huge fan of those movies). I’m loving Nicholas’ performance as Harvey Dent and how they displayed his DID in his first appearance (in episode nine with his scene with Lovecraft). Nicholas is very, very important to me.

sciottmccall-archive-deactivate:  gotham is totally my thing because it focuses on, i suppose from what you said not a complete canon version of origin stories but a close enough version, and mainly the villain arcs (especially nygma and jerome bc they are my fav's) and also the little hints of ivy and selena and characters like that (also penguin and victor zsasz) because the only thing i really like about the dc universe in the first place is the villains so i like that they focus on the villains

Season two is supposed to HEAVILY focus on that aspect of Gotham land, so I would definitely recommend catching up on it. I’m looking forward to what they do with Dent this season (obviously) and if they are going to go forward with his arc in the latter part of the season, or continue down the straight route with him (I’m excited either way, but I really want to see Nicholas’ face get half burnt off which sounds horrible but honeSTLY).

sciottmccall-archive-deactivate:  so question, is it worth it to catch up on gotham?? like i think i stopped watching after the ep with fish mooney and when she gets her new eye and starts working with the creepy doctor who should not be trusted at all, but i just haven't bothered to finish watching s1 so i don't know??

THE TRUTH: Season one of Gotham royally fucked up a bunch of shit, but supposedly season two is going to make up for the mistakes of season one. Setting aside certain issues with age gaps with characters (non-ship related) and other things, I think it’s worth it. I absolutely LOVE Gotham and what’s being done with it. My only concern is that season two is going to focus on Jerome (possible (definite?) Joker) when it’s supposed to be focusing on Nygma’s story arc.

I thoroughly enjoy it, I love it. I wish more of my friends watched it so I could gush about it with them. You just have to remember that while they label this an “origin” story, it’s essentially fanon. That while you may have read things in the comics, you can’t let it fully dissuade you from things in the show (like Harvey Dent being much older than Bruce Wayne). The show, during it’s first season, loses that whole “villain of the week” mentality about halfway through which is great (which, from what you said, you are beyond now, so there you go).

I haven’t watched the last couple episodes because I’m in denial the first season ended and I am a stubborn little shit waiting for the night of the season two premiere and then I’m going to watch both of those episodes I’ve set aside (I’m also bitter because Dent wasn’t in either of them, but that’s a whole other bias, haha).

I like the edginess of the show, and how campy it can be.
I think you should give it a shot.
If it isn’t your thing, then it isn’t your thing.

maidenpool-deactivated20150914:  By the bye: Thoughts on whether Sinster 2 is going to suck ass or just plain suck? Or possibly be surprisingly not horrid?

FUN FACT: I was supposed to see it opening night with my room mate, but I had wicked bad heartburn, so I stayed behind and she saw it without me. I plan on going to see it tomorrow. BUT THAT ASIDE! She thoroughly enjoyed it. She thinks the first one spooked her more, but she enjoyed the movie itself. So, I guess we’ll see how I feel when I go see it tomorrow! I have hopes for it, but I haven’t set the bar too high because I legit cannot have high expectations for horror movie sequels - especially one as inventive as Sinister. I’m just glad we get Deputy So-and-So back for the second movie (how deep his role is, I do not know).

I’ll let you know how I feel about it after I see it tomorrow (:

Okay but I’ve been thinking about the massive backlash over Channing Tatum being cast as Gambit, and just about the Tatum-hate in general, and I’m just gonna say it: I think it’s sexist.

Remember when Channing Tatum first came onto the scene and he was in that Nicholas Sparks movie and then he was in Magic Mike and women were all about the Channing Tatum life? Then you got men saying, “Blegghh Channing Tatum sucks, he’s not a good actor, he’s a dumb jock-type, what about real actors”

I think the main driving force behind that original wave of men saying, “Channing Tatum is stupid, only girls like him because he’s hot, he’s not even a good actor, blah blah blah” was backlash against him because women liked him. It’s the same reason Dirty Dancing is sneered at by film critics and labeled a dumb chick flick, but Saturday Night Fever is classic Serious Cinema.

Channing Tatum isn’t a bad actor, he gave critically acclaimed performances in Foxcatcher and Magic Mike both. He’s not stupid: (That all-female Ghostbusters you’re so psyched about? He’s one of the main producers and backers. He also produced Earth Made of Glass with his wife, which is a major, award-winning documentary about the Rwandan genocide, 21 Jump Street and the sequel, which had massive box office grosses, and Magic Mike was literally based on his life. It was his idea, his story, and he co-wrote). He’s not an idiot by any means at all, and the fact that he has ADD and severe dyslexia make the whole “stupid buff guy” stereotype people associate with him kinda sketchy.

Anyway, after men started lashing out against him because he was popular with women (and Lord forbid something women like be considered quality), then you got women saying, “Well, I just don’t think Channing Tatum is attractive.” or “I don’t like Channing Tatum, I like ~real actors~” and it was all permeated with an underlayer of “…not like those dumb, bimbo other girls.” It’s the same shit as, “I just don’t get along with women, I get along with boys better.” It’s a subtle, maybe even unconscious way of saying, “I think like you, boys, please accept me. I’m better than those girls, please don’t treat me the way you treat them.”

TL;DR: Channing Tatum is a recovering alcoholic and former sex worker with ADD and severe dyslexia who is frequently unfairly lambasted just because he has the audacity to be popular with women.

here’s a gif of him feeding a puppy soup. please examine your life choices.

a) channing tatum seems like a sweetheart and yeah, actually he is a good actor so anyone being bitchy can shove it
